Claude Connector integration for Atlas
The Atlas MCP connector links your recruitment database to Claude. Ask in plain language, and Claude searches candidates, reads meeting transcripts and updates records. It can also build a report from the data already sitting in Atlas. Every request runs against the permissions the person asking already holds. A recruiter sees through Claude what they see in Atlas, and nothing more.

What Claude Connector does
Claude is Anthropic's AI assistant, and it can be extended with connectors that reach into outside systems. The Atlas Claude connector is one of those. It runs on MCP, the open protocol Claude uses to talk to other software. The connector points Claude at your Atlas account itself rather than at an export of it. Claude reads and writes through Atlas, which is why your existing permissions carry across unchanged. You authorize the connection yourself, and it appears in Claude next to any other connector you use. It sits alongside the rest of the Atlas integrations library.
What changes in your day
A client calls asking where their search stands. The answer is spread across records, notes and meetings nobody has written up yet. Asked in Claude, the shortlist comes back out of Atlas. Who is at interview, who has been sent, who has gone quiet. The client report is drafted from that data rather than assembled by hand. Nobody spends the afternoon rebuilding a picture that already exists in the system.
Every desk has a search string that somebody built once and nobody can reproduce. Searching Atlas through Claude does away with the string. A consultant describes the person they need in the words they would use with a colleague. Claude searches Atlas and hands back the matches. Boolean skill stops being the thing that decides who finds the right candidate. The search also happens inside the same conversation as the work that follows it.
Then there is the call from six weeks ago. A candidate mentioned a notice period and a number, and the detail is somewhere in a transcript. Rather than scrubbing through it, ask Claude what was said. It reads the meeting transcripts held in Atlas and answers from them. The detail no longer depends on whether anyone typed it up afterwards.
Most record updates get written at the end of the day, if they get written. A consultant coming off a call can tell Claude what changed instead. A new salary expectation, a client contact who has moved, a role that has gone on hold. Candidate and company records update from the conversation, with no form to open.
An operations director wants the same shortlist summary produced the same way every week. Building that on top of Atlas through Claude takes no code. The workflow is described, refined, and reused by whoever needs it. That puts small process changes in reach of the person who owns the process. Nothing waits in a development queue.
How to turn it on
Two things are needed on your side: a Claude account of your own, and admin rights in Atlas. The connector is added in Claude and authorized against your Atlas account. From then on it is available to that user. Claude uses Atlas when you ask it to, so name Atlas in the prompt. Setup is done once per user, and rolling it out to a team means each recruiter authorizing their own connection. The team at Atlas customer support will walk you through it.
Anyone comparing more than one tool will find CoRecruit and Xero written up the same way.
Claude Connector FAQ
Do I need my own Claude account to use the Atlas connector?
Yes. The connector is added inside Claude and authorized against your Atlas account, so each user needs their own Claude account. Atlas access follows that authorization. The Atlas team can advise on the right setup before you roll it out across a team.
Can Claude see candidate data a recruiter is not allowed to see?
No. The connector respects Atlas permissions throughout. Requests made through Claude return only what that user could already open in Atlas. Restricted records stay restricted. A permission changed in Atlas carries into what Claude can reach.
Does Claude use Atlas automatically, or do I have to ask?
You ask. Claude works with the connector when the prompt tells it to, so name Atlas in the request. Ask it to search Atlas for a shortlist, or to read a transcript held there. A prompt that does not mention Atlas is answered without it.
Can the connector update records, or is it read only?
It writes as well as reads. Candidate and company records can be updated through the conversation. A consultant coming off a call can state what changed rather than opening a form. That is the difference between a connector you report from and one you work in.
What can Claude tell me about past meetings?
It reads the meeting transcripts stored in Atlas and answers questions from them. That covers what a candidate said about a notice period, or what a client agreed on a fee. Nobody has to go back through the recording to find the line. The transcript itself stays in Atlas.
Do we need a developer to build workflows on top of Atlas?
No. Custom workflows can be built on top of Atlas through Claude without writing code. An operations lead can describe a routine, refine it, and hand it to the desk. Anything more involved is worth raising with the Atlas team.
