Your previous provider will hand over your database, usually as a CSV or a full backup file. Once we receive it, we load it into a live, queryable environment so our engineers can inspect and understand your data before any transformation begins. This step is always free once you’ve settled up with your outgoing provider. If anyone tries to charge you for the export, let us know.
You stay in control of how your database maps across
Before any transformation happens, you log in to your personal migration dashboard and review how your existing fields map across to Atlas. Things like candidate status labels, engagement types, and custom attributes all need a human decision before they move. Our team provides a clear reference guide and works through any edge cases with you directly. Nothing gets transformed until the mapping is signed off.
Your data gets reshaped to fit Atlas perfectly, every field in the right place
Every CRM stores data differently. Field names, record structures, and status labels that made sense in your old system need to be reshaped before they work properly in Atlas.
Our engineers write custom transformation scripts for your specific dataset, with AI handling the repetitive work. This stage typically takes two to three days, and you’ll have full visibility into progress throughout.
Hundreds of checks run before a single record goes live on your portal
Before anything moves forward, every table in your dataset goes through a battery of automated tests. We check for missing required fields, duplicate records, NULL values, and inconsistencies across the board, typically 30 to 40 tests per table, adding up to 300 or more checks across your full dataset.
Generative AI flags anomalies that rule-based tests would miss. If something doesn’t pass, we fix it before proceeding. You only move to staging with clean data.
You sign off on your data before anything goes live
Once transformation is complete, your data moves into a staging environment that looks and behaves exactly like Atlas. You’ll receive a structured checklist covering people, companies, contact details, and more, so you can verify that everything carried across correctly.
Our migration team is with you throughout, and the dashboard keeps you updated daily on what’s been completed, what’s pending, and any open questions. We move at your pace, and nothing goes to production until you’re satisfied.
Go live with your full database intact and your team uninterrupted
Once you approve staging, your data moves to production. If your team has already started using Atlas, the migrated records merge cleanly with your live data. If not, your verified dataset becomes your starting point.
Every record is immediately indexed for search, so your team can find candidates, contacts, and companies the moment they log in. Attached files, including CVs, contracts, and any other documents, are linked back to the right records so nothing gets orphaned. From here, it’s business as usual.

How long does a full migration take?
Most migrations are completed within two to three weeks, depending on the size and complexity of your dataset.
Do we need technical knowledge to be involved in the migration?
No. The only step that requires your input is the data mapping and staging review, and we provide clear guides for both.
What happens to our data if something goes wrong during the migration?
Nothing is ever overwritten or deleted from your original dataset during the process. We work on a separate copy of your data at every stage, so your existing records are always safe.
