Agency owners, desk recruiters and ops leads who are being pitched AI weekly and want to judge it on something other than the demo.
The pool of candidate profiles every sourcing tool draws from is roughly the same one. If the data is identical, the data is not the advantage.
Figure cited by Jordan Shlosberg in this session, describing the candidate universe available to any sourcing product. The parts of your job AI is ready for, and the parts it is not.
Neither of them argues that AI replaces recruiters. The useful half of the conversation is where they get specific: which steps are automatable today, which ones break in ways the demo will not show you, and what to actually test.
Automation was a 2010 idea
Sending more, faster, is the playbook everyone already ran. Steven's argument is that AI is worth having for the opposite reason: writing to the hundred people who are genuinely right instead of the ten thousand who are not.
Two questions to ask any sourcing tool
Point it at your own database and see whether the top twenty it returns are the twenty you would have picked yourself. Then check whether it helps you actually reach them. Most tools answer one of those.
Source, contact, qualify, schedule
Where the agent hands back to a human, and why scheduling is harder than it looks. The blocker is not finding a slot, it is answering the questions a candidate asks in the middle of the thread.
Give three times, ask once
Both agree business development is where recruiters need the most help and where volume tactics do the most damage. What the tooling can actually do is find the reason to reach out, not write more emails.

For recruiters who are being sold AI every week and want a way to judge it.
You’ll get huge value if you…
Get pitched an AI sourcing or CRM tool more often than you can evaluate them
Want to know which parts of your desk are genuinely automatable today
Run BD and suspect that sending more is not the answer
Are curious what founders say when they are not on a sales call
Probably not for you if…
You want a product demo: this is a conversation between two founders, not a pitch for either tool
You want a beginner's introduction to AI rather than a recruitment-specific one
You want a prediction about whether AI replaces recruiters. Both argue it does not
